Charu Makkar, MS 2006

Charu Makkar received her Master's degree from University of Florida in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineeing in 2006. As a graduate student, she submitted four journal papers and five conference papers along with a 4.0 GPA. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Automation Engineering from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, India in the year 2003. As an undergraduate, she performed research at the Northwestern University as part of her summer internship. During this period she developed the control code for a novel haptic device called the ‘Page-turner’. In spring 2003, she designed and manufactured an Industrial robotic manipulator to tighten the cap of bottle, called the ‘Cap-tightener’. She also worked as a Process and Design Engineer in Continental Device India Ltd, the largest manufactures of discrete semi-conductor devices in India for a year. Currently she is working with Deloitte Consulting LLP in Chicago, IL.
